Summer is here!

This past weekend was Memorial Day weekend. I had client appts on Thursday half way down to Stone Harbor and 5 appts in that area on Friday, so I went there after my appts. Brian and Jadie came down Friday after work. The whole fam was down for the weekend and we had loads of fun. We BBQed most of the nights, played washers, went to Coffee Talk, drank a bunch, browsed the shops on 96th St, washed our cars, and worked on some decorating in the house. Sat night Brian and I went up cousin Denise's house for a surprise 40th b-day party for Tim. We think he was really surprised, so that was great! The weather was great all weekend...one of the best Memorial Day's in a long time! Jadie had a ton of fun playing with Pacie, Corriah, and Gracie and is now bored without them. We had planned on heading back up Tues morning but Brian had an early meeting so we decide to brave the traffic on Monday....not fun! It took us 3 hours to get home. After we unloaded the cars and rested a bit we went to PJ's in Medford to grab some dinner. It was really empty in there....guess everyone was at the shore still. All in all, we had a great weekend and it was a great kick-off for the summer.

Weldon's wedding

This weekend was Keith and Ashley Weldon's wedding in DE. Keith is one of Brian's best friends from WVU. Brian was a Goomsman in the wedding so we went down to DE on Friday night for the rehearsal and dinner after. We had a great time at the dinner and then had some more drinks in the lobby bar at the hotel. Saturday we hung around at the hotel until Brian had to go get ready with the other guys. It was a beautiful candle-lit ceremony. Ashley looked beautiful and they both looked SO happy. I brought the flip with me and was able to video all the girls walking down the isle, them saying their vows, exchanging of the rings, and them walking out as husband and wife. I thought they'd love to see the videos before they left for their honeymoon because I know that Brian and I would've loved to have had that before we left for ours. The reception was at Harry's Savory and it was a great time. Keith works for the Balitmore Ravens and Ashley's family are all Eagles fans so Keith had both mascots make an appearance. They had a dance-off and it was so funny! Everyone was screaming and laughing. The wedding was a great time...and it was our first event as Mr. & Mrs. Brian McFadyen. ;)

I giggled...

Today I was meeting with one of my clients and during our meeting his phone rang. He picked it up and told me it was the Manager in their new branch. I heard him say, "oh hi Sid, I'm in a meeting with Christine McFadyen from Paychex." I giggled but the funny thing is that I thought I giggled in my own head....but apparently I giggled out loud because my client looked up at me and smiled. He knew that I thought it sounded funny. ;)

I've been Mrs. McFadyen for over a month already!

Wow! How could it be possible that I've been Mrs. McFadyen for over a month? I've been on such a whirl-wind since we got home from the honeymoon with work, getting my name changed, tying up loose ends from the wedding, and orgainzing my home office (it's been "wedding central" for 9 months now) that I really couldn't believe it when I realized that today is May 11th. May 4th, our 1 month anniversary, just wizzed right by me! A lot of people have been asking me if I feel different now that we are married. My answer to them has been "no, not really." On the surface that is true because we have been committed to one another for a little over 1.5 years and living together for a year now. So we have already gone through the living together growing pains and worked through all the normal issues that people learning to live together go through. But, the more I think about that question, the more I think about how I do feel different. My sister told me that when she and Ryan got married she felt like they were a true team and she felt power in knowing that it was the two of them against the world. When she told me that I remember laughing but now that Brian and I are married and I'm reflecting on it, I do understand what she means. It's true...Brian and I are a team and we are going to face everything that life brings us, together! No more making decisions for myself....I have a partner to talk things through with and decide where our lives will take us. It's also an amazing feeling knowing that we are together forever! With all the broken hearts I've had in my past I was always prepared for the "ok, how long will our relationship last? Will we make it to Christmas? Should I invite him to meet the family?" Now I know that Brian and I WILL last, we WILL make it to another Christmas, and he has already met my whole family. To be honest, it's a very strange feeling for me because I used to always have my guard up and now it's completely knocked down. Brian came into my life and now I can see my future.....a future filled with happiness and love. So, yes, I do feel different....and to steal Corinne's words, it's Brian and I against the world!

Back to the gym....ugh!

Last week we said we'd get back into the gym since we haven't worked out since about 2 weeks before the wedding. Well, we went once so over the weekeend we decided to do it this week. Monday came and went without even driving past the gym. Last night Brian was swamped with work so I decided to go. I didn't do a full work-out....just cardio....but it felt good to be back. Tonight we forced each other to go! We did just cardio and called it a day. I'm thinking I'll do cardio all this week and then next week work the weights back in. What I can't believe is that when we got home I went upstairs to throw laundry in the washer and my legs were hurting walking up the stairs!! Oh my! That only tells me what I'll be in for next week if I go back to full work-outs! Ugh! Not looking forward to that...
