Kicking goals

The butt paste incident

I should've known when the boys were playing quietly in their room to check in on them. I walked into their room to get them dressed for soccer and Evan met me at the door with his hair covered in butt paste (diaper rash cream) and some of it down his nose. He was so proud of himself. He was saying "mama hair!" He thought he put gel in his hair and styled it for me. I was so shocked because I couldn't figure out how he got the cream off the top of the dresser. We were running late on time so I was on the verge of tears with my pregnant hormones. I called for Brian and when he came to the room he was laughing. I said "do not laugh about this!" We had to throw Evan into the tub and I washed his hair 3 times. The cream is so waxy that it didn't come completely out. I gave up and put his soccer clothes on and we headed out. I can laugh about it now....but I wish I wasn't so hormonal that day because I would've loved to have a picture to preserve the memory.

Visit with Ho Ho

From afar they both waved to him and said "hi Ho Ho!" But needless to say they weren't too fond of sitting on his lap. Evan on left and Gavin on right

Check in with our lil girl

Last week we had an ultrasound at the High Risk Dr. office to check the baby's growth. She is currently measuring 1 lb 12 oz. The Dr. told us that she's right on target for her age. Such good news to hear. The Dr. actually told me that I'm a "boring case." We chuckled and she said that she won't have to see me for 6 weeks. (FYI - the reason she jokingly said "boring" is because she is my high risk Dr. and is used to handling multiples and risky pregnancies. I have to go to her due to my age and the fact that the boys came 7 weeks early.) During the ultra sound we actually saw her yawn and it was adorable! We saw her open her mouth, stretch out, and stick out her tongue. After that she coughed a little. It was amazing!!

Gpop with his lil men

Gettin ready for soccer

The boys are attending a 6 week instructional indoor soccer class. The first couple weeks they were a little shy about it but this past week we saw a huge improvement. They love kicking the ball and playing the games. Gavin was having a hard time understanding the "no hands" rule of soccer and would get upset when we told him to put the ball down. He seems to have understood the rule now and is doing so much better. He was adorable when last week at the end we were all putting our hands in for the "good game cheer" and Gavin got upset and said "no hands, no hands." We all laughed MeMe and G Pop come with us each week and the boys love it! They love that we all take turns with the parent participation part of the class.

Blake's party

The boys had a blast at Blake's 1st birthday party!

Halloween 2013

Halloween this year was so much fun! Evan was Batman and Gavin was Robin. When we went trick or treating the boys didn't quite get the concept in the beginning but by the 4th house or so they were running up to the door and saying trick or treat. We only went to about 15 houses and then came home to hand candy out. I think the boys hand just as much fun handing it out as they did trick or treating themselves.

Big boy beds!

Last Sat night we "ripped off the band-aide" and put the boys in big boy beds. They were so excited! They climbed up and down a few dozen times and jumped up and down. At bed time they did lay right down but as soon as we closed the door they ran to the door crying. It lasted about 10 mins and then they ran to their beds. They did sleep all night! Whew! Sun morning we watched on the monitor when they woke up. For the first 20 mins or so they stayed in their beds, as if they forgot it wasn't a crib. We then saw Evan climb down, grab 2 books, gave one to Gavin, and then climbed back into his bed. Too precious! They've been doing decent with it ever since. Nap times are more of a struggle than night time but they do eventually lay down and go to sleep. Yesterday I was working from home and after nap I saw Evan climb into bed with Gavin so that they could read books together. Evan started to cough and Gavin tapped his back and said "you ok?" I teared up immediately. My lil babies are growing up....but I'm enjoying every minute of it!
