Big boy beds!

Last Sat night we "ripped off the band-aide" and put the boys in big boy beds. They were so excited! They climbed up and down a few dozen times and jumped up and down. At bed time they did lay right down but as soon as we closed the door they ran to the door crying. It lasted about 10 mins and then they ran to their beds. They did sleep all night! Whew! Sun morning we watched on the monitor when they woke up. For the first 20 mins or so they stayed in their beds, as if they forgot it wasn't a crib. We then saw Evan climb down, grab 2 books, gave one to Gavin, and then climbed back into his bed. Too precious! They've been doing decent with it ever since. Nap times are more of a struggle than night time but they do eventually lay down and go to sleep. Yesterday I was working from home and after nap I saw Evan climb into bed with Gavin so that they could read books together. Evan started to cough and Gavin tapped his back and said "you ok?" I teared up immediately. My lil babies are growing up....but I'm enjoying every minute of it!

Mommy's birthday

We celebrated my birthday by making our annual trip to the farm. We went through the zoo, watched the tractors (the boys favorite part!), and picked our pumpkins. It was an unseasonably hot day...not like my birthday at all...but we had a blast! We loved watching the boys explore and pick their own pumpkins. Although Gavin wanted to bring all the pumpkins home. Too cute! Later that night MeMe & Gpop came over to watch the boys so that Brian & I could go out to dinner. We had a yummy dinner in Collingswood. I had a great birthday!

Week 18

Saying hi to Great-Grandfather

One night late this summer we were walking the boys and stopped by the American Legion to look for Grandfather's stone. I showed it to the boys and they both looked down at the same time. Luckily I had my phone ready to snap the pic. I just hope Grandfather was watching. If he were here I'm sure he'd have a story or two, or three (LOL!) to tell the boys about his days in the war. Grandfather was a very knowledgeable man - I think he knew something about everything. As much as we'd all joke around about his stories and lectures we all do miss it very, very much! Grandfather I love you! I wish you were able to meet Brian and my boys....but I know you can see us every day....just wish I could talk to you.
