Too cute!

Charlotte turns 2 this week and we are having a birthday celebration for her tmr at our shore house. All day today we'd has her whose birthday it was and whose party is tmr. She grin, giggle, and do the happy dance while saying "me!" It is so adorable and I'd get all giddy watching her get excited. I can't wait to see her tmr!

Dinner with Jeremy & Jen

Wed night we met up with Jeremy & Jen for dinner in Collingswood. It's been a really long time since we've seen them so it was so much fun to catch up. We talked and talked and talked....and ate and drank wine. The Phillies were on and the guys were itching to watch the game so I suggested we go to PJ's, down the street. We did go and watched the rest of the game. I had quite a few drinks and struggled a bit getting to work on Thursday morning but it was worth it because we did have a blast!

Last minute date night

Tuesday afternoon Brian called me and asked me on a date. He said "let's do something fun...let's go to the Phillies game." It was last minute but it turned out to be a really fun night. We got there early...which is totally unlike us....and it was so nice to not feel rushed. We were able to eat dinner before the game actually started. We walked around the stadium to kill time before the 1st pitch was thrown. Once we sat down I was immediately "stalking" Jayson Werth, like usual, and Brian was laughing at me. We had a fun night watching the game and people watching...oh my, there was a very amusing couple sitting next to us and we had fun trying to figure out their story. It was a great date night with my hubby.

Sara's graduation party

Sara's High School Graduation party was at Aunt Pinky & Uncle Charlie's on Saturday. She's on her way to TCNJ in late August. It was a fun evening hanging with the family and eating lots of yummy food. All the kids had a blast in the hot tub and then running around the yard, while baby Lenna napped in her car seat. CONGRATS and GOOD LUCK Sara!!

Dinner with the gals

Last night I went to dinner with Dana, Nicole, and Melissa at Redstone. Well, actually we were supposed to see Sex In The City 2 but we waited so long that it's not in the theater anymore! Ha! We are all such busy gals that we couldn't coordinate a date until last night. I was cracking up when I went online to get times and found out it wasn't even playing. We decided to just grab dinner. We chatted it up for a couple hours, like usual, catching each other up on our lives. We had a great dinner and a yummy dessert. It's always a fun time when the 4 of us get together.

Re-cap of last weekend

Friday night was pretty chill because we were all tired from the week so we went to bed early. Saturday morning Mom & Dad took the JJ's and us to Uncle Bill's for breakfast and then Brian and I headed up to the Miller's shore house. Chris had called and said that the Weldon's were stopping by on their way back down to MD. We haven't seen the Weldon's in quite a few months so we were excited to hear they were there. We took a boat ride and had lunch at the Tucahoe Inn. Once we got back to the house, we had to get right back to Stone Harbor for our family portraits. We took them on Mom & Dad's dock and they turned out great! Mom was so excited to get them done and was tearing up a bit at the end of the session....too cute! For dinner we grilled up tuna steaks courtesy of Johnny. He was in a fishing tournament on Thurs and Fri and caught a 150 lb tuna!!! The steaks were so yummy! Allison & Kevin came over later for a few drinks and we watched TV. Sunday was a fun day at the house. We all laid out on the dock and we took turns going on a wave runner ride with Johnny. I had a ball wave jumping but am now paying for it (yes, it's 4 days later)....my legs are so sore from bracing myself from falling off. It's SO evident that I need to start working out again! Sunday night Mom & Dad treated all of us to a great dinner at the Lobster House. We decided to stay down Sunday night and head up to reality on Monday morning.

Last day of vaca

Today was our last day of our vacation. We stayed at the house, lounged on the dock and went for a boat ride with Mom & Dad. We were very sad to leave the shore but will be back down there soon enough. Back to work tomorrow....blah.

Sunday blues

Brian and I are having a more intense case of the Sunday blues today than we usually do. We aren't very found of Sunday's since it means we have to go back to work tmr. We are very sad that our vacation is coming to an end and very jealous that Allison & Kevin's vacation is just starting. We are counting the days until our August vacation.

Rainy day

Yesterday was a rainy day....yuck! We hate rainy days at the shore. Brian and I had high hopes of the sun coming out so we put our bathing suits on in the morning, but it never did come out. We just lounged around the house and watched a movie during the day. We had dinner plans with Allison & Kevin so they came over around 6 for some cocktails. We left around 7 and headed to Cape May for our dinner reservations at The Blue Pig. It had stopped raining so we asked to sit outside. However, the umbrella covering our table had puddles of water on it and would drip onto the guys every so often. Allison & I felt bad and offered to move inside but the guys were troopers....the wore napkins on their shoulders most of the night. Ha! We had a very good dinner and then came back to the house to play a boardgame. As usual we had a blast! A couple times during the night we'd talk about Dana & Anthony not being able to make it down and how much fun we would've all had. We are looking forward to when they come down another time.

Pics from last night

Work on vacation...??

Ugh...yesterday we had to work. It was a dose of reality that we weren't ready for. I had 4 clients to go see in the morning and Brian was giving me a hard time because I was leaving the house. I said "silly you are the one that said we should save a Vaca day and work from the shore today." He said yes but he wasn't ready for our Vaca to be over. I told him the sooner I got out of the house the sooner I'd be back. I did get back around 1:00 but it was such a busy day with calls and emails that I worked every minute until I turned off the computer at 5:00. Brian had some calls but it wasn't as busy for him. As soon as it was 5:00 we went out to the dock with a beer. We ordered in dinner and waited for Johnny, Allison & Kevin to get down for the weekend. We stayed in and watched a movie. The Galiano's were scheduled to come down this weekend but unfortunately Dana had to go to the hospital earlier this week. They are thinking it may be a gall bladder issue. She was released from the hospital last night but she needs to rest this weekend. Hopefully they can come down here soon.

Relaxing day

Today we wanted to take it easy so that Brian didn't overdo it. We got to Coffee Talk later than usual and then walked around town a bit. It had rained this morning so it wasn't as terribly hot as it has been. We stopped by Mom's house so that she could see Brian was ok....she was really worried about him last night. Later in the afternoon we sat out on the dock to soak in some rays....well, Brian sat in the shade....and we called Mom to invite her to dinner since Dad had to work late. She was excited to receive our invitation and we told her to bring Gracie too so that Jadie could have a play date. We BBQ some chicken and burgers and made pasta salad and corn on the cob. The three of us ate dinner and then sat on the dock with some cocktails We had a really fun evening, and spent a lot of time reminiscing about the past 3 years. We laughed a lot! When Mom left Brian and I hung on the dock for another hour or so and then headed in....we have to work tomorrow....ugh!

Some heat stroke...

Yesterday was a tad scary. Brian went golfing with the Evensen clan and the plan was for me to meet him in Brigantine for a family dinner. I was supposed to hear from him before I left the house to confirm time and place to meet him but he wasn't answering his phone. I decided to leave around 5:15 and head up. I called his cell a couple more times but no answer. I called Rob's cell and he did answer. As it turns out, Brian was suffering from some heat stroke. (It has been so extremely hot in NJ this week!) Rob told me that he was staggering across the parking lot. I asked to speak to him and he sounded so "out of it." He said he had a bad headache and felt weird. It didn't feel good to talk so he asked if he could just talk to me at Aunt Pinky's in 20 minutes or so. I got to her house before him and was worried about him the whole time. When he got there he looked pale and he said he had gotten sick when we hung up the phone. I was asking him questions and he couldn't really answer me. He took a cold shower and then laid on the couch for about an hour or so. I checked on him and the color was coming back into his face and he wanted to eat. Whew! What a relief!

Sadly we missed the Lifeguard races, which I was looking forward to because I've never seen them, but he needed to relax at the house. The rest of the family came back to the house after the races and told us that Brigantine had won! We had some drinks and hoagies with the fam before we headed home around 10:30pm. Wow.....what a day!

Pool, boardwalk, dinner

As you can see from my previous post, it was extremely hot today so we didn't do too much outside during the day. We went to Coffee Talk in the morning and drove the electric car around the island a bit. The rest of the late morning/early afternoon we stayed indoors. Around 3:00 I suggested that we go to the neighbor's house to take a dip in their pool. We did and it was an awesome idea, if I don't say so myself. Ha! We got a call from Aunt Linda around 4:00 that she, Uncle Jack, their kids, and grandkids were headed to the Wildwood boardwalk. We met them there and had a fun time...despite the heat. The kids didn't seem to notice the extreme weather as they ran from ride to ride. Us adults were constantly looking for shaded areas to stand in while we watched the kids run around. Brian and I left after a couple hours and then went to dinner with my parents. We went to Flip Flops in North Wildwood and had a nice time. We had a great day!

Holy hotness!

Wow! Today was SO extremely hot! Mom said she saw on the news that it was the hottest day in 9 years....and I totally believe it. It was a day that all you wanted to do was sit inside with the air conditioning. Ugh!

Wonderful day with my hubby

Yesterday we had an amazing day. It was just us and we had a ball. We started the day with our normal Coffee Talk visit and then drove the electric car around town a bit. We stopped at Bud's Market to get some snacks and lunch food. Then we stopped at Fred's to get the essentials....beer and wine. :) We came back to the house had lunch and then sat on the dock for the rest of the afternoon. I was shocked that Brian did that because he normally will sit there for 1/2 hr and then go in the house for an hour and then come back out. I said to him, "wow this is great! You are being so lovey dovey today." He said "well I'm spending time with my wifey." (He's too cute.) I was laughing at him because he packed a cooler with beer and snacks....I said "um, silly the house is right there." He said he knew but it would make it easier when we wanted another drink. He was so right...we may need to start doing this more. We had some tunes playing and we just sat there soaking in the sun and talking. The sun took a lot out of us so we took at nap before dinner. We had a late dinner up in town and walked around town after, window-shopping. It was a wonderful day with my hubby!

BBQ w/the family

Tonight we went to Aunt Pinky & Uncle Charlie's house for a 4th of July BBQ. Aunt Linda, Uncle Jack, and the rest of the Waslefsky clan are here from Arizona this week. All the kids had fun going in the hot tub and running around the yard, while the adults had cocktails and delicious food. We had a great time catching up with everyone and look forward to some more fun the rest of the week.

Josh & Heather's wedding

Josh and Heather got married last night in Cherry Hill. It was a beautiful ceremony and a super fun reception. They looked so blissfully in love and we wish them all the happiness in the world. Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Josh Seigle!

Ahh...Vacation!

As of 5pm tonight Brian and I are on Vacation for the next 10 days, with the exception of working on Friday. We have a fun-filled week planned with a wedding tmr night, BBQ with the Evensen clan, golf with the fam, 4th of July fireworks, and the Galiano's visiting with us next weekend. Yes, it's going to be a busy week but it's V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N! Woo hoo!
