We haven't been to the shore in a month so we were super excited to get down this weekend. We packed up the car on Thurs night and headed down. We dropped Jadie off at the house and then went to Owen's in Wildwood for some dinner and to watch the Phillies game. It was an early night for us because we did have to work on Friday. I sat at the kitchen table all day to get admin work done and Brian went out on the road to prospect for sales. At 5pm sharp we turned off the computers and cracked open some beers. Ah! Johnny and Brian played baseball on the Wii while I tried to put together a dinner for us. Being that summer is over we have slim pickin's of food in the house. I found burgers in the freezer so we put them on the grill. I found noodles, black beans and refried beans so I cooked them up. We didn't have burger buns so I called Mom...she had some so I went down there to grab some. Asked her for some kind of veggie and she didn't have any either...except 2 cucumbers from her garden. I grabbed those. Needless to say our dinner was a miss-mash but it was good none-the-less. I couldn't wait for Jeanna to get down because the boys were playing video games. She got here around 9:30 or so. We all sat around and drank beers and just had fun. Saturday we just chilled and then headed to Wildwood for Irish Weekend. We walked the streets, drank beers, and shopped at the street vendors. Aunt Rita & Uncle Scott had us all for dinner. They had a great dinner for us all with steak on the grill with all the fixins'. Once Conner and Collin went to bed we all headed back up to the festival and bar hopped all night. We slept in today and are now watching the EAGLES game. What a great weekend!!!

Gym...? Huh? Is that word English?
Brian and I used to be such "gym people." Before we met each other we each went to the gym an average of 4 times a week. That did continue when we met but it soon turned into an average of 3 times a week. Then we joined a gym together so that we could go together and it went back up to an average of 4 times a week. Once we got engaged and preparing for the wedding/honeymoon we were at the gym as much as possible...to prepare for 10 days of being in a bathing suit! Well, since we've been home from the honeymoon...about 5 1/2 months....we've probably been to the gym a total of 10 times. WOW! What happened??? This summer we decided to buy an elliptical so that we could at least stay on top of our cardio. We did use it all the time in May - early Aug. However, when we decided to put the house up for sale we shoved it into the corner so that the house would be more "showable." Since it's been in the corner we haven't used it. You'd think that would've forced us to go back to the gym but it didn't. Wed night I asked Brian to pull the elliptical out of the corner and that I don't care if the house is less "showable"....I need to get back to working out! Thurs morning I went back on the elliptical. It was tough but I did it! Woo hoo! Let's hope I keep it up and maybe I'll eventually get back to that strange 3 lettered place.....the gym.

Happy 55th Gram & Grandad!
Grandad surprised Gram with a 55th wedding anniversary party today. She was completely surprised! They re-newed their vows, cut the cake, threw the garter and bouquet...pretty much all the traditional wedding things. All us girl grandkids helped Gram put on a veil and walked her out into the party. Their kids and grandkids all stood next to them as they said their vows....we were their wedding party. Dad gave the toast and it was great! He had gone online and ordered a paper from the year they got married and quoted some of it throughout the toast. It truly was an inspiration to watch them. They were in their glory with all their family and friends surrounding them. They are truly an inspiration to Brian and I. We hope that we will have as great a marriage as they have for the past 55 years. Love you Gram and Grandad!
Dinner with friends
Last night we had dinner with some of Brian's friends from when he was at Enterprise. Jeremy and his wife Jen had us and Stacey over their house. It was a fun night. Jen cooked a great dinner and the wine was flowing. There was a lot of laughter as they reminisced about Enterprise days. Jen and I didn't know everything they were talking about but tried to keep up. We tried to bring in as much non-Enterprise talk as we could but we all had fun, none-the-less.
Just doin' nothing
Yesterday was a lazy day. We laid on the couch watching TV in the morning and then I went to get my nails done. It was such a beautiful day so when I got home I told Brian we needed to be outside. Jadie heard the word "outside" and saw my enthusiasm so she immediately assumed she was invited. It was really too funny! So we decided to take her for a long walk. We walked in our development but more than we usually do. Jadie was in heaven! I looked at Brian and said "Babe, I love spending time with you, even when we are doin' nothing." He said "you better" and smiled.

Girls Night In
Last night Dana, Nicole, and Melissa came over. We sat at the dining room table for a couple hours pigging out, drinking, and catching up on each other's lives and also watched our wedding vedio. We had an awesome night just being girly and "solving the world's problems." Haha! Brian was a trooper and stayed downstairs, with Jadie, all night. He didn't mind though...he had his own drinks down there while watching the Phillies game and I brought food down to him every so often. It was definitely a fun time with the gals!

Love this time of year!
Ahh.....the Fall is almost here! As I sit on the couch wearing a thermal long sleeve shirt, watching football, and smelling the spiced cinnamon candle I feel cozy. I turned off the air and will crack the windows when we go to bed. I saw mums at the farmers market and the little pumpkins at Shop Rite tonight. Autumn is truly my favorite! As all the school-kids go back, it's like a brand new year. I think I may go to Target tmr to pick up some fresh new pens and pencils for myself. I used to love school shopping with Mom, Corinne, and Johnny....anyone remember trapper keepers? :) Maybe I'll buy some mums this weekend too. Ahh....love, love, love this time of year!

Thinking of you today Grandfather
Today is Grandfather's birthday. It's been almost 3 years since he's been gone and it doesn't get any easier. So many times I think about something he did or said and I'll smile. I'm always telling Brian things about him because he never had the opportunity to meet him. I just know that Grandfather would've loved him and I find peace in that...knowing that he would've approved of my husband. Sometimes I talk to Grandfather....I tell him that I miss him, that I love him, and ask him for help and guidance. Recently I've been asking him to "work his magic" and send us fertility blessings. Maybe he can talk to God for us? Actually, the other day I told Brian that with my Grandfather and his Mother up there banging down God's door how could we not get blessed with a baby? I just know that they are both up there doing whatever they can to help us out. Anyway......the point is I talk to Grandfather a lot but I do wish he was still here with us. I could use one of his hugs and his encouraging words. He always told me how much he loved me and how proud I made him....I just hope I'm still doing that. Love you Grandfather!! You will be in my heart forever!!!
Wedding Album
Tonight Brian, Mom, and I went to Mary Quinn's to see the layout of our wedding album. She wanted us to approve it before she sent it to print. It looked great, on her computer screen, so I can only imagine how wonderful the actual album will look. Can't wait to see it!!! Hopefully we'll get it by Christmas.
Did I miss my calling?
Ok, so why is it that most of the TV shows I watch are based at a hospital? General Hospital, Grays Anatomy, Private Practice, Royal Pains, ...... Should I have been a Dr. or a Nurse?
Alyssa & Katelyn Bauer have arrived
Nicole & Mike's twin girls were born on Sept 2nd....3 months ahead of schedule. They were due on Dec. 7th but decided it was time to make their presence in the world. Nicole called me early on Thurs (9/3) morning to let me know she was a Mommy. She was so excited! She said they were delivered via c-section and one was 1 lb 10 oz and the other was 1 lb 7 oz. They were doing well. I spoke with her again yesterday morning to get an update. She said it's definitely a roller-coaster but they are hangin in. She and Mike go to the hospital multiple times a day. Brian and I wish them all the love, hope, and prayers in the world. I just know that they will make it through the next couple months with flying colors. Can't wait to meet them!

Catching up on the news

Jadie is usually very routine in the morning....wakes up, goes outside, eats her breakfast, and goes outside again. This morning I was on my laptop while she was eating and got consumed in my work. I looked up to see if she was done eating and noticed she wasn't in the kitchen anymore. I searched the house and found her sitting on our bed watching Good Morning America. It was just too funny! It was almost as if she just needed a cup of coffee to complete her mood. It's pretty sad that my dog watches the news and I don't....

Korrin's 30th celebration in NY
Sat night Kevin surprised Korrin with a limo ride to NY to celebrate her 30th birthday. We all showed up at their house around 5ish and hopped in the limo shortly after. We had drinks and chatted on the ride up and couldn't believe we were there so quickly. We were early for our dinner reservations so we hung at a pub and then walked to dinner. We had a really good dinner with all you can eat gourmet pizza and red wine. After dinner we bar-hopped until we realized it was 3am. Brian and I stopped drinking around mid-night or so because we didn't want to totally ruin our Sunday by being hung-over. The limo drove us back to Kevin & Korrin's and we got into our car to head home. We got home at 5:30am! Wow! When was the last time that happened? Ha! Jadie was so confused because she was sleeping since 4:30pm the day before so she thought it was play time. We crashed in bed until around 12:30 or so and then woke up and went to the diner for some greasy food. We definitely had an awesome time filled with fun, laughter, good food, and family!
Lunch with the fam
Brian's cousins John & Brett were in town from AZ this weekend and we wanted to spend some time with them since we never see them. So, we woke up Sat morning and drove down to Aunt Pinky and Uncle Charlie's house. We hung out with Aunt Pinky, Uncle Charlie, Tim, John, Brett, and Aunt Denise for a couple hours. We ordered in lunch and hung on the back deck catching up. We brought Jadie with us. She had fun exploring the back yard and playing with everyone. We had a very nice afternoon with the fam!

Brian was busy and I relaxed
Thursday night Brian went to the Phillies game with Jeremy. Friday he golfed with his cousins and Johnny and then had his fantasy football draft at his cousin Chris' house Friday night. I stayed in both nights. Thursday night I hung outside with Jen and Ceil and Friday night I got caught up on TV and went to bed early. Brian had a very busy couple days but I was able to stay home and relax. I probably should've cleaned the house, done laundry, food shopped, ran errands,.... But I really didn't feel like it....just wanted to veg out and that's exactly what I did. Sometimes you just need to do nothing to get re-charged.
Carnival with the neighbors
Just as we sat down to dinner on Wed, our neighbor Jen called to invite us to go to the carnival with them. (We didn't even know the carnival was in town....guess these are things we will know when we have kids.) After dinner we took a drive up there. It turned out to be such a fun night! We had no idea they had a Beer Garden there! We just assumed we'd be walking around with them while the kids went on the rides. We hung out with Jen, Joe, Tyler, Ryleigh, Ceil, Joel, and Emma til around 11:30 or so. There was a band and plenty of carnival food to enjoy also. We really enjoy our neighbors and it's times like these that we don't want to move....but we will stay friends with them no matter where we live.

5 month anniversary
Today is our 5 month wedding anniversay. It's funny because if we had gotten married when I had orginally wanted we wouldn't even be married yet. I had wanted a Fall wedding and now that the fall is upon us I thought about it this week. I reminded Brian about this earlier this week and told him that I wanted to have our wedding all over again. He chuckled and said "ok." Ha! But the truth is that I couldn't be happier that I'm already Mrs. Brian McFadyen!
