Cozy Sunday morning watching cartoons...

Good morning dude

Stern Mother

The other night the night I laid the boys down on the floormat. They were parallel to each other. I walked into the dining room and glanced over. Gavin had scooted himself around and was now laying perpendicular to Evan. He was kicking his legs and therefore banging his feet into Evan's face. I was shocked and said "oh no Gavin, that's not nice." I moved him away from Evan and walked away again. I turned around and he was doing it again! Evan had a look on his face that was going to soon turn into a cry even though he didn't know what was happening. All of a sudden I had the motherly stern voice and said "Gavin! No! I said that's not nice. You are hurting your brother." I totally shocked myself....it has happened....I am now an official mother of two. Many more of those times to come!

Gavin has a tooth!

After a few long days of Gavin being fussy and drooling everywhere, his 1st tooth broke through yesterday. Whew! You can't quite see it yet but when you put your finger in his mouth he will bite down and you can feel it.

The powers of "Little Bear"

Evan

Gavin

The boys are obsessed with the cartoon "Little Bear." They could both be crying or both be playing but as soon as they hear it on the TV they turn their heads and stare. Sometimes I catch them smiling when they are watching it. It's part of our morning routine to watch it after their bottle while Brian and I are still getting dressed and ready for work. Thankfully it's also on ondemand because we are able to put it on whenever we need 20 minutes are so to eat dinner or go through the mail or take a quick shower or do some work emails etc... I just wonder how long this show will work for us.

Cookies with Evan

This picture is from our Christmas cookie day with my Mom and Aunt Rita. Evan was helping me decorate the cookies. He did watch intently as I put the cherries on the cookies. Maybe next year it'll be his job? :)

Heaven on earth!

Brought tears to my eyes

I was putting Evan to bed the other night and after he finished his bottle we rocked in the glider for a while. We were talking about our day and our plans for the next day. He drifted off to sleep and was smiling at his dreams. It brought tears to my eyes. It was a beautiful site...one that I never want to forget.

Flyers Winter Classic

Brian and I had the opportunity to go to the Flyers Winter Classic and it was great. At first I was really worried about being too cold and actually told Brian to take someone else with him. He insisted that he wanted me to go because we were in need of a date. I'm so glad he talked me into going because we had a wonderful time. Yes, it was cold....but I soon forgot that it was January in PA because I was having a blast with my husband.

6 month Dr. appt

Tonight the boys had their 6 month Dr. appt, and once again they are completely identical! They both weigh 14 lbs 14 oz and are 26 1/2 " long. The Dr. said they are on target for an average 6 month old. (so proud!) They had a few shots and cried pretty hard but once we got them home they seemed to relax a bit. The Dr. told us we can move on to stage 2 food and start to introduce a sippy cup of water. We did give them Tylenol and they are sleeping soundly now...let's hope that lasts all night!

6 months old

WOW! The boys turned 6 months old on Sunday! Where has the time gone? I can't believe that these little miracles have been a part of our lives for 1/2 a year. Sometimes when I think about it, the time has flown by but other times when I think of Evan and Gavin I really can't remember life before them. They have brought Brian and I much happiness and purpose in life. We have had the the best time raising them these past 6 months and truly can't wait to spend the rest of our lives watching them turn into happy, healthy men. That is now our most important goal in life.....and yes, we are totally up for the challenge. We love you Evan William and Gavin John! Happy 1/2 birthday.

New Year's at the shore

This year we spent New Years with Corinne, Ryan, Livi, Char, Johnny & Jeanna at the shore. None of us have ever spent NYE down there so we thought we'd give it a shot. We all headed down on Friday night and stayed until Sunday. We had a lot of fun! Many drinks, much food, and lots of fun. Livi and Char were little mommy's helping me with the boys. They did a very good job of entertaining them. When this picture was taken the girls were making the boys laugh so hard....harder than I think I've ever heard them laugh. Corinne and I had tears in our eyes watching our 4 children interacting and loving each other so much. It was such a great feeling to experience that with my sister. We can't wait to watch them continue to grow and do fun cousin things together. On Saturday Brian, Ryan, and Johnny went to the Flyers Alumni game so us gals (plus Evan & Gavin) went shopping and hung at the house. The boys came home and we had some drinks to celebrate the new year. We were all so tired and struggled to stay awake to see the ball drop. Once 2012 was here we all went to bed. 2011 was such a special year for Brian and I that it's hard to believe that 2012 could top it....but as the boys continue to grow and develop we will have many more special memories in 2012. Here's to a good year to come!

Evan and Daddy

Evan has 2 teeth!

Last Thursday Evan's 1st tooth popped thru. I got a text message from Melissa, our day-care provider, that she saw it. I was so super excited to pick him up that night to see it. I put my finger in his mouth to feel it and he immediately started biting my finger. Then today we discovered another tooth popping thru. Our lil man is getting so big! I can tell that Gavin isn't too far behind because he chews on everything and is drooling a lot. We will be patient...
