The sound of Phillies on TV
Tonight as I was washing the baby bottles and prepping them for tmr I heard the Phillies game on the TV in the Family Room. I got the chills. I was nostalgic. The boys were born during the Phillies season. Since the Phillies play almost every day that is the sound I remember as I laid in the hospital bed on bed-rest, as I laid in the bed resting up in between visits to the NICU, and when they came home and we sat on the couch holding them as they slept in our arms. Over the weekend I pulled out some 12 month clothes for Evan and Gavin and found the Phillies onsies that I bought Brian last year. Tmr they will be 10 months old and I'm in complete shock. Time has truly flown by....I need to remind myself to stop and soak it all in before they are teen-agers. This Phillies season I'm going to sit on the couch with my boys and listen while Brian teaches them all about baseball.

Gettin' ready
The boys are gettin ready to crawl. We are sure it'll be any day now....and then we will be chasing them around the house! They are able to get up on their hands and knees and do the rocking motion. Stay tuned...
Shopping
On Saturday we had the boys out shopping for things for the new house. We went to Lowes, Target, and Home Goods. They were very good and patient while we bored them shopping for house good items.

MeMe's bday
Last weekend we had the Grace-clan over for our belated Easter celebration and a BBQ for MeMe's bday. The Easter bunny was nice enough to leave extra eggs here for Livi & Char to find outside and the girls decorated the Easter Bunny cake. I can't wait to see how the boys help with the decorating next year...I'm sure they will take hand-fulls of the cake out and eat it instead of put candy on it. We also had a BBQ dinner for Mom's bday. It was a beautiful April day so we were able to sit outside on the deck the whole time. Once the boys went down to sleep the drinks were flowing while we hung out with the heater to keep us warm. We had a great time with everyone, as usual!
Solid Food
At the boys 9 month Dr. appt earlier this month the Dr. gave them the "go ahead" for solid foods. So far, they have tried bananas, pears, cooked carrots, puffs, yogurt, and mum mum's (that's what they are eating in this picture.) They are also now on Stage 3 baby food. It has been a process. The first few days they would gag and throw up anything I gave them. It's gotten better each day but they will usually gag with any new item I give them. Gavin is definitely better with chunky/solid food than Evan. Evan has a real hard time with texture...but he's trying. They also love the sippy cup with water in it.

My favorite time of day
This is my absolute favorite time of the day. It's at the end of the day, after work, after dinner, before the boys bed-time. We lay on the floor together and hang out. Sometimes we read books, sometimes we play with toys, but sometimes we just laugh and talk. The boys get excited when they see Brian and I get the quilts out to lay on the floor. The 4 of us take this hour each night to just be a family. It's such a precious hour!
Easter dinner
Our dinner table for Easter dinner. Notice the center-piece....it's "Mary Grace style" with the Easter grass and candies. (Had to throw in some of my child-hood memories.)
Easter Day
Easter day we had Rob, Ida, and Tim over for dinner. Brian and I were nervous since it was our first holiday we've hosted but all turned out well and all the food was warm at the same time. Whew! It was also the first "formal" dinner in our new dining room so that was fun in itself. The boys did well. We put Baby Einstein on for them while we ate our dinner so that they were entertained.
Evan is in brown/orange and Gavin is in blue/green.

Easter morning
Easter morning with our beautiful sons in our new home.....what a WONDERFUL feeling! The boys are 9 months old so they have no idea that it was Easter or that the Easter Bunny left them a basket with candy. (The candy was really for Mommy & Daddy this year.) But none of that matters. What matters is that we have our little miracles and we are happier than words can express. It was an extra special day for me because Evan (my 1st born) got to use my Grandfather's Easter basket. The Bunny left candy for him in it, then my Mom (his 1st born), then me (Mom's 1st born), and now Evan. It warmed my heart as I looked at it and imagined Grandfather looking down on us with a huge smile and the words he always said to me... "Christine, I'm so proud of you." (I love you Grandfather!)
Evan is in white and Gavin is in yellow.

Our new home!!
Happy Valentine's Day (belated post)
I haven't posted much in a while so I'm going through pics in the phone and camera. Came across this pic from Valentine's Day. Brian and I had Mary Grace's traditional heart-shaped meatloaf with mashed potatoes and peas. (Mom wouldn't have peas though!) Of course we washed it down with wine. We don't do anything big on Valentine's Day but this tradition is something my Mom always did for us as kids and I want to carry it on for my kids. The boys couldn't eat it this year but next year they will. I love traditions.....especially the ones from Brian and my childhood that we can carry on.
