Order is placed!

Mom came over today and we went through her picture choices to make sure she had everything she wanted. We didn't think we'd need that much time but in reality we did! We had an appt with the photographer scheduled but had to call her to ask her if we could come 1/2 hour late. Even though we asked for that extra 1/2 hour, we were still another 15 minutes late. Haha! I think we were at her office for close to 2 hours! So many more decisions to make...what style album, what color cover, what color edge of the page, how many extra prints, what color frames, what color matting, etc... Can I just tell you how happy I am that the project is finally done and the order is placed? I had such a headache when I got home and I immediately put the proofs in my office closet. I need to not see them for quite some time! Don't get me wrong...I LOVE our pictures and I can't wait to see them in 6 months when they come in...but my gosh was it exhausting!

4th go at the pictures

Last night we went through the pictures again in order to pick our wall portrait. I'd say it took us about an hour to scan through, narrow down, and finally pick. We did have to compromise though since we each liked different pictures. But we are both happy with the final decision. Then I spent probably another hour double-checking and triple-checking that we copied all the proper #'s down on the order form. Wow....this has been quite some project!

3rd round of cuts

When we got home last night we sat down for around 2 hours going through the pictures again. I had thought we needed to cut it down to 50 but after reading the brochure I realized it was actually 56. It was definitely difficult but we were able to cut out the 22 pictures we needed to to get it down to 56. The next project is to figure out which one will be our wall portrait!

Rain, rain, go away

When will it stop raining? It's the beginning of summer and it has rained more than the sun has been out. It's so depressing! This past weekend we were at the shore and it rained and/or was gloomy the entire time. Mom had planned a BBQ for Sat to celebrate Fathers Day and we were afraid we wouldn't be able to cook outside. The rain did stop for just the right amount of time for Uncle Scott to run outside and BBQ up all the meat. Dad had knee surgery on Thursday so therefore he wasn't able to run in and out before the rain came back. We had some fun eating and drinking most of the afternoon. Brian and I had plans to meet Johnny up at the Windrift later on Sat night but we were so tired that we were in bed by 10pm. Sunday was a lazy day too...it consisted of our usual run to Coffee Talk and then laying around watching TV and hangin with Dad for Father's day. We head back home around dinner time. We sure do hope that next weekend the sun is out and we can actually hang outside!

2nd cut for pictures

We received around 1,200 proofs from our photographer and we were able to tag 100 that we'd want in our album on Sunday morning. We are allowed only 50! Last night we spent about 2 hours going through those 100 and were able to cut out 22 pics, leaving us with 78. Before Wed we need to go through them again and make a 3rd round of cuts. Ugh...this is so difficult!

Dyson.....I'm obsessed!

We had a few gift cards and a bunch of Macy's reward points left from our shower so we put them together and ordered a Dyson vacuum. I was super excited to get it because I've heard wonderful things about them, especially with picking up pet hair. We love our 3 furry children but boy do they leave a lot of hair on the floor! All the hair doesn't help Brian's allergies too much either. Well, it arrived today and I vacuumed the entire house....I'm obsessed! It filled up the canister 2 times! I'm sure hoping this helps Brian breathe better too.

Spooning

We have a normal work-night routine at bedtime. Jadie and I head up to bed around 10/10:30 and she's allowed to lay in bed with me while I watch the 10:00 news. Brian stays downstairs and works on his computer, preparing for work the next day. Every night, no fail, I'm asleep before Brian comes up to bed. Last night I asked him to not work on the computer and lay in bed with me and cuddle. As we laid there, in a spooning position, I asked him if he remembers the feeling of before meeting each other how it felt to lay in bed alone. He said yea, "I was lonely. I didn't have Jadie and I didn't have you!" I smiled because that's exactly how I felt and never want to feel that again.

Dinner at the Fetter's

Last night we went down to Aunt Pinky & Uncle Charlie's house for dinner. We brought the wedding proofs along so most of the time was spent going through them. They helped us try to narrow down our choices by giving us some input on the one's we tagged. Dinner was great, as always. For dessert Aunt Pinky defrosted the left-over cake from our rehearsal dinner...it was still as good as it was the night before our wedding. :)

Pictures, pictures, pictures

We got our wedding proofs back a couple weeks ago and have been so over-whelmed with trying to pick out the pics for our album that we've been giving them to family members to sort through. Yesterday morning we finally sat down for about an hour or so and went through them once. We had sticky notes and tabbed pics that we liked. We have to go through them a few more times to make the "cuts." We have until next Wed to figure it out because we have our meeting with our photographer. Wow...the pressure... Haha!

Chinese food, wine, friends, and laughs

Last night we went to Dana and Anthony's for dinner. We ordered chinese food and sat out back eating, drinking, and laughing until 2:30am. We had such a great time that none of us realized how late it was when we finally looked at the clock. It was just what the 4 of us needed after a stressful week at work.....good friends and laughter definitely is the best medicine.

Trying to get back into the work-out routine..

We have been trying to get back into a work-out routine since we got home from our honeymoon. We always start out the week all inspired and ready to get back into it. We get to the gym once and then the week just flies by and we realize that we haven't been back. Brian has been trying to talk me into buying an elliptical for a while now and I finally gave in a couple weeks ago. We've both been using it a couple times a week but haven't actually taken a drive to the gym for any weight lifting. Tonight I decided to do a 1/2 hour on the elliptical at home and then went to the gym, with Brian, for weight lifting. I loved the feeling of walking into the gym knowing that my cardio was already done and that we'd be in and out of the gym in a 1/2 hour. I'm hoping that this motivation continues....

Alyssa's 1st birthday party

Today was Alyssa's 1st birthday party. It was at the Please Touch Museum in Philly. First we all had pizza and cake and then we all went to play in the Museum. Wow, is that an amazing place! Brian and I had a ball following all the kids around and imagining how fun it would be if we were their age again. Happy birthday Alyssa, my sweet God-daughter! Loves!

So proud of her!!!

Yesterday was Livi's dance recital. We were all very nervous for her because we remember all too well how she cried on stage last year. When it was her class' turn to come out we all just crossed our fingers and sat on the edge of our seats while we watched the curtain open. As it did we saw Livi walk across the stage and do the ENTIRE dance with her class!!! She was SO amazingly cute. We all just kept on clapping our hands while we watched with tears in our eyes. Our little Livi is so brave! Charlotte even watched her big sister dance and was waving her arms up and down as if she wanted to tell Livi she was watching her and was excited for her. After the finale dance the school presented awards and Livi won one! Go Livi! After the recital we went out for pizza and beers to celebrate her accomplishment. She felt really fancy in her recital costume while we all just oohed and ahhed over her, telling her how proud we all of her. By the end of dinner everyone was hugging and kissing her good-bye and she said "I kinda don't want anymore kisses right now. I'm tired!" HAHA!! I guess we were all too excited and couldn't stop expressing ourselves. :) My little God-daugther is just too adorable. (to see some pics and a video clip of her dance check out my sister's blog....there is a link on my page to the right....it's titled Katrina Family.)

Rob's birthday dinner

Rob's birthday was on Thursday so we had him and Ida over our house on Friday night. I know how much Rob love's our family recipe cheeseball so I made that for him as an app. We ordered in from a local Italian restaurant and then had some birthday cake. Rob is always so thoughtful when he comes to visit because he remembers to bring treats for the "kids." Although, of the 3 only Jadie will play with him....Autumn and Harvey always stay hidden. We watched the Phillies game and then called it a night.
