Showing off the growing belly..

We never get tired of the SH sunset!

Memorial Day Weekend

Ahh......the unofficial start of the summer weekend. It was beautiful weather and a fantastic time in Stone Harbor. We spent most of the weekend on the dock or in the new rafts. We are so excited that summer is here...we love family together time.....not to mention the fact that our boys are coming this summer so it makes it even more fun. We can't wait to add to the family.

Family BBQ in Brigantine

Sunday we headed to Aunt Pinky & Uncle Charlie's house for a family Memorial Day BBQ. We had yummy food and hung with the fam catching up on all of our lives. The kids ran around and played in the pool. Brian and I observed the kids playing and thought about how soon enough we will have 2 little ones to add to the mix. We didn't stay very long since we had a long night the night before. We headed back to the house and crashed as soon as we got there.

Day with the WVU crowd

Saturday afternoon we went to the Miller's for a BBQ with Brian's college pals and their families. The guys played tailgate toss while the gals hung on the deck chatting it up like gals do. Ashley and I hung together most of the day discussing our pregnancies and our plans for when the boys arrive. She is due 3 days before my scheduled c-section so we are wondering if they will have the same bday. The kids all had fun running around and playing on the swing set. Jamie made a great dinner for us and dessert was fun because she made home-made ice cream. Later on, when the kids were passing out from exhaustion, we sat around on the deck and they told stories about their good ole college days. It was so much fun to see everyone! It's very rare that we all get together since 2 of the couples live in MD....so we lived it up as much as we could.

Week 28

Dr. couldn't be happier

Today we went to the high risk doctor. Evan is 2 lbs 11 oz and Gavin is 2 lbs 13 oz. They are doing really well and the Dr. actually said he couldn't be happier with their progress thus far. The pictures above are of them facing the camera. The tech said that it looks like Gavin has some hair already! Gavin is totally hogging most of my belly....so much so that it was hard for the tech to get images of Evan because he was smushed into a ball. Too funny! My next appt with the OB is on 6/8 and the next one with the high risk is 6/16. Brian and I are so super excited and feel so blessed that everything has gone so well so far. We are in love with our boys already and can't wait to tell them how proud we are of them....in July.

Baby shower

It was hard for me to believe that I'd ever have a baby shower but that dream became a reality last Sunday. Our family put together a beautiful shower for us and we will always remember it. The theme was twins, of course, and the room was filled with blue and yellow. There were yellow roses to represent Brian's Mom and 2 pictures of her on the cake table. I felt her presence in the room and it was great. Our family and friends were all there and were so happy for Brian and I. There were smiles all throughout the day and much laughter. Brian and I felt so completely loved. We had so much fun bringing all the gifts home and setting things up. I took off the next day and Mom came over to help me put things away. We had a blast playing with all the gifts. I still can't believe it happened....I feel like I'm dreaming.

Family fun

Aunt Linda flew in from AZ this weekend so Brian and I went down to Brigantine to hang out with the Aunt's. Uncle Charlie, Tim, Denise, and Sara were there too. We ordered in pizza and sat around chatting, laughing, and catching up. We haven't seen Aunt Pinky since Christmas time because they were in FL and we haven't seen Aunt Linda since she visited last summer. The Aunt's couldn't wait to see & touch my belly. They were too cute! Aunt Pinky found a short video clip of Brian's Mom and we watched it a couple times. It was the first time I've ever heard her voice! The most amazing thing to me was that when she was on the TV the boys started to move around and when the TV was off they stopped. It was awesome! I was so happy to see the video because now I can imagine her better....other than just looking at pictures. We definitely had a great time last night...a special evening.

Scheduled c-section

I spoke with the surgery scheduler yesterday and we are scheduled for 7:30am on Wed, July 27th. Let's hope the boys stay nice and snug inside until then.

Good news from the Dr.

Thursday we had a check-up at the high risk Dr. All looks great with the boys. The Dr. said that the risk of TTTS (twin to twin transfer syndrome) significantly reduces once you hit 26 weeks. Whew! We made it through that milestone. Good job boys! Our next appt is in 2 weeks.

1st sign of summer

We headed to the shore tonight and as we pulled into town we were reminded that summer is around the corner. The "No Turn on Red May 1 to Oct 1" sign. Every year I see it and every year I get excited. As we drove through town all the stores and restaurants were open. Ahh....so refreshing!

My 1st Mother's Day gift

Brian came home today with these beautiful roses and the sweetest 1st Mother's Day card. He wrote a really nice message inside the card, which warmed my heart. I never thought I'd see the day where I was celebrating Mother's Day. It's amazing!

Week 25

Jadie girl

Our sweet baby girl. She looks so adorable in this pic so I had to post it. What she's doing in that pic is standing right next to me as Brian took my weekly picture. She is always so curious and has to be inches away from us. Too cute.

Happy 3rd Alyssa!

Alyssa's 3rd birthday party was today at Sahara Sam's. What a great place! Brian and I loved it and all we did was observe. There are all kinds of water play areas for kids and adults. They even have a full bar, which was a shock to us. When you are inside you feel like you are away on vacation. It's warm and smells like chlorine. It's definitely a place we will remember when we are in the middle of winter and can't take the cold anymore. Brian said it's even worth it to pay to get in to just sit at the bar for a few drinks so that you can get through the rough winter months. All the kids had a blast running around and telling the adults how much fun each ride was. After 2 hours of play we went into the party room for pizza and cake. Alyssa was wiped out by the end of the party and I'm sure she went home to go right to bed. Happy Birthday Alyssa!
