Fall is coming!

Mom and I were shopping with the boys today and we saw mums!  The first one's I've seen this year.  Sooooo excited!  :)

Sharing

Gavin doesn't like fruit these days....here is him passing his blueberries to Evan, who gladly accepted them.

I see me!

Finally!  I see me as a baby in this picture of Evan!

Gavin walked!!!

Gavin has been taking 1 or 2 steps every now and then but on Sunday, at Aunt Pinky's house, he took about 10 steps at 2 different times.  The first time he walked from Aunt Denise to me and the 2nd time from Uncle Charlie to me.  He was sooo excited and giggled the whole time.  I was in shock and was calling Brian the whole time.  I was saying "Oh my...Brian, Brian, Brian.....look!!!"  Evan watched his brother with a look as if he was thinking how cool it'd be if he could do it too.  We were all so proud of Gavin!  I gave him extra hugs and kisses that day and kept telling him how proud I was of him.

Fun in the pool

On Sunday we went down to Aunt Pinky & Uncle Charlie's house to hang out for the day.  We had lunch and went in the pool.  The boys loved the pool!  They took turns in the boat and loved splashing everyone.  Aunt Denise, Tim, Paul, and Mrs. Schreiner all stopped by to hang with the boys.  The weather was perfect so we stayed out back enjoying the sun.  We had a fun time!

Long sleeves

Saturday was a weird day, weather-wise.  In the house I was chilly and being that I knew we were going shopping I decided to put the boys in long sleeves.  As I was changing their shirts they both were very confused with the long sleeves.  They kept pulling on the sleeve as if they were trying to pull it off.  I was cracking up!  With the hot summer that we've had the boys haven't worn long sleeves in quite a few months - obviously before they were old enough to understand what clothes were on them.  They spent the rest of the day trying to figure them out and/or trying to pull them off.  It was very comical!

Deli counter

Another one of those moments that I always watched other mother's experience happened to me.  The boys and I stopped at the supermarket to grab a few things.  One thing we needed was lunchmeat.  I placed my order with the lady behind the counter.  When I was ordering the cheese she asked if I needed a couple extra slices and nodded in the boys direction.  For a split second I was like "what?" but soon realized that one of "those moments" I had longed to have was here.  I used to look on at mothers with their children as they would do anything to keep them calm for the hour they needed to be in the supermarket.  Anything that made the kids happy made the mom happy.  I used to think "some day..."  Well, another one of my "some days" was here!  I gladly accepted her offer for the 2 extra slices of cheese and smiled.  When I handed it to the boys they smiled from ear to ear and were so proud of themselves to be holding a piece of deli cheese.  It kept them busy long enough for me to shop another 10 minutes or so without any complaining or crying.  I was also smiling from ear to ear.

Frist time on the boards

Saturday night we went on the Wildwood boardwalk with the family.  It was the boys 1st time there.  Brian and I had a great time experiencing everything through their eyes.  They were wide-eyed as they watched the bright lights, rides, and people.  They went on the carousel with MeMe & G Pop and the train with Mommy & Daddy.  They even had a taste of boardwalk pizza.  We were only there for about 2 hours or so but we all loved every minute of it.

Happy Birthday Nanny

We visited Brian's Mom's tree earlier this month for what would've been her birthday.  We showed the boys the tree and talked with them about Nanny.  I know she would've been so proud of Brian!  He is a loving husband and an amazing father.  It saddens me that she isn't here to witness it but I know she's watching down on us and smiling.  She raised a wonderful man and for that I thank her.  Happy Birthday Mom (Nanny)!

First boat ride

The boys did well on their first boat ride.  They were very quiet and very stiff in their bulky life jackets but had a great time.  Evan actually fell asleep, while Gavin smiled and smirked as he experienced new things.  It was awesome!

Little brother

It may only be by a minute, but Gavin will always be the little brother!

Working together

Gavin...sometimes he crawls

Gavin is our army crawler.  He thinks he can get places faster that way, but every so often he decides to crawl.  Tonight he did crawl and I got it on video.  He crawled over to the activity table - his favorite play spot - to play with the carnival toy, his favorite.

Are the Phillies ready?

Evan has learned how to throw the ball and he loves it!  The past few nights, during after dinner play time, he's been doing it and it's amazing.  He has so much fun doing it and we have so much fun watching him.

Evan takes after Mommy

Baseball bat

Gavin has a new favorite toy...his red baseball bat.  He smiles when he sees it, will army crawl across the room to get it and hold on to it even when taking a nap.
